Set within a beautifully restored 19th century blacksmith's barn, The South Range is West Cawthorne's largest property, a spacious, light-filled retreat perfectly suited to families, groups of friends, or those special multigenerational gatherings where everyone deserves a little luxury.
Inside, soaring vaulted ceilings and floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors flood the open-plan living space with light, framing breathtaking panoramic views across the Vale of Pickering. Neutral tones, natural textures and carefully curated antiques create a deeply calming interior. A space that immediately invites you to slow down and settle in.
Step outside and the south-facing garden comes into its own. A private hot tub, outdoor kitchen, fire pit and generous dining area make it as much a living space as the interior. As the sun sets over North Yorkshire, this is where memories are made.
Two superking bedrooms, each with their own en-suite, offer a genuine sense of retreat at the end of the day. The family bedroom has the added bonus of a mezzanine floor with two single beds, perfect for younger guests or children wanting their own space.
The West Range is a beautifully restored former stable block, originally built in the 19th century and now transformed into a stylish, secluded countryside retreat. Retaining many of its original features, it's a space that feels both considered and deeply relaxing, ideal for two couples, small families, or anyone seeking a genuine escape from the everyday.
High vaulted ceilings, exposed beams and traditional wood parquet flooring set the tone, while large bifold doors open seamlessly onto the garden, blurring the line between inside and out.
Two superking bedrooms, each with a large en-suite, provide a private and luxurious place to unwind. The master bedroom features a freestanding bathtub, ideal for a long soak after a day exploring the moors.
Outside, a wood-fired hot tub, fire pit, Kamado BBQ and outdoor dining area make the garden as inviting as the interior. Surrounded by open countryside and absolute quiet, The West Range is a place to truly switch off.

Step inside and the sense of calm is immediate. Soaring vaulted ceilings, a soft neutral palette and natural textures throughout create a space that feels both expansive and deeply restful.
Carefully chosen antiques and homewares add warmth and character, sitting comfortably alongside the barn's many original features, every detail has been considered.
At the heart of it all, the enormous sliding glass doors draw the outside in, flooding the open-plan space with light and placing those breathtaking panoramic views exactly where they belong, front and centre.

At the heart of The West Range is a bespoke kitchen hand-crafted in English ash, a quiet nod to the craftsmanship and care woven into every corner of this restored stable block. It's a beautiful space to cook in, and an even better one to gather around.
Both superking bedrooms have been designed to offer a genuine sense of retreat, large, luxurious en-suites, traditional features softened by contemporary design, and an atmosphere of calm that makes it easy to truly switch off.
The master bedroom goes one step further, with a freestanding bathtub perfectly positioned for a long soak at the end of a day on the moors.

The North York Moors is one of the UK's finest International Dark Sky Reserves. From West Cawthorne, with no light pollution in sight, the night sky puts on a show. Add barn owls at dusk, deer in the fields and a rewilding project that's brought bats, badgers and buzzards back to the estate, and nature is never far away.
Whether you're a family, a group of friends, or a multigenerational gathering, this is your luxury escape with space for everyone, where grandparents, parents, and children can relax, explore, and make memories together.
AVAILABILITY
The Barns are available for a minimum 3-night stay at weekends and 4 nights during the week. Check-in is Monday and Friday from 4pm; check-out by 10am.
The South Range
Sleeps 4 guests as standard, with room for up to 2 additional guests in the mezzanine family bedroom at £50 per person per night. Travel cots for up to 2 infants are available on request at no additional charge.
The West Range
Sleeps 4 guests. Travel cots are available on request at no additional charge.
Pets are not permitted at either property.
As much as we love four-legged friends, as we are located close to livestock fields, pets are unfortunately not permitted to help ensure the safety of all animals.
